More was revealed in volume 7 of the plot concerning the Yagyu and Ogami Itto. It seems that the clan is really at it's wit's end. There is no way to not shame the clan the longer that The Lone Wolf and Cub travel the country side killing people.
Word has already spread of the assassin's deeds to Edo and it's seems that The Wolf has killed the top two assassins from the last issue there is little hope that the Yagyu clan will come out of this unscathed. They are in dire straits.
The highlight of this issue come from the fact that Ogami Itto faced off against someone that served under the Shogun just as Ogami had. During the time when the Shogun took his life, he wanted a demonstration of each man's swordsmanship. The Lone Wolf was victorious, but still to this day, he wondered why the man used the technique he did, for the duel was not to the death.
Several years later the swordsman is on the same river bank where his lord died keeping it as a shrine. Through chance he runs into The Lone Wolf and Cub crossing the river and tells him that he wishes him to return again. Through even more chance, Ogami is paid to kill the famed swordsman as he has taken the life of some very important people to keep the land he is on sacred.
The biggest thing about this issue was Ogami is still on his quest to clear his name and there is more and more people being involved in his quest. As more and more clans get pulled in more and more of them lose faith. This is getting good.
