I've finally decided to vote Libertarian. After seeing what happened at the RNC and the DNC I just don't understand where the Democrats and Republicans are going. They are not speaking to me. I also believe that both parties lack the vision of the future and I don't see how this could help our country improve.
I live in the Pacific Northwest and I am going to try to go to a rally and try to get a little more involved with politics too. I've always sat on the sidelines when it came to stuff like this but I don't think I can do that anymore. Don't get me wrong, I vote, and talk passionately with my friends and family about politics but that's pretty much where it ends.
I think a lot of people feel like I do as well. Most of my close friends have that same kind of fed up mentality when it comes to politics in general. There seems to be this growing apathy with the American people when it comes to stuff like this. I don't know if people will feel the need to get more involved though, but maybe instead of people just giving up maybe they'll dig in.
I think this is a great time to be an American. Maybe this election will be a point when people start to get involved again and decide for themselves that they should get more involved with the whole process. This may be a turning point in American government where we start to make the people on top accountable and we watch them a little bit more closely.
