Ogami Itto's quest is still not complete. This is something the assassin himself wonders during one of his missions. This is also shown to us by the contrast of Diagoro who seems to accept the fate of himself and the fate of his father. It seems to be a darker time for our heroes.
In the beginning of the graphic novels as the plot was being revealed there seemed to be a light at the end of the tunnel. A way out for our two protagonists. Although they were assassin's for hire they were meeting people on the road and trying to make advance their quest for vengeance against the Yagyu clan.
The marks this time were interesting. A husband and wife that had been betrayed. A penniless samurai, and a cuckold ronin. All these people had interesting stories and one of them even seemed to know of The Lone Wolf and Cub's plight with the Yagyu, but largely this was a stand alone story next to the main events of the novel.
If Ogami can stay true the course of his body and mind hopefully he can finish his quest.
Lone Wolf and Cub is available digitally and on Amazon.
