It seems like every time I read some interesting cure or product that may actually change my life I then have to read an article where, come to find out, it's never coming out. This may be due to some government regulation or some law that was passed, or some testing that still has to be done by some agency or something. The most recent one I was reading about was medical marijuana.
The government is considering reclassifying it as something other then schedule 1. Which puts it up there with heroin by the way. Buy it's 2016 and they are only just considering this. Also, the University of Mississippi is the only university that is allowed to have clinical trials to show the effects of cannabis on medical ailments. The silver lining though is that since the government is deciding to reschedule the drug they have allowed other universities to get licenses to do testing on it.
I just want to say this again so people understand me clearly, it's 2016. I know, not everyone feels that same way about marijuana. I've personally never done it before, but, truth be told if someone who is in serious pain because of cancer, or MS, should be able to use over the counter cannabis if they want.
They should at least have the choice, and the doctor should have the choice to prescribe it to them if they want. The patient shouldn't have to go through all of this red tape just to feel better. It just feels like this is becoming ridiculous.
Innovation is the thing that drives every nation, but especially America. Right now there are people that want to stop us from being innovators again, and it seems like it's the government. What do we do about this? What steps can we take to make sure that we continue to be the leader in new technology again? How do we make sure that people benefit from all the hard work that we as a nation have put in to being better?
