I was going to write the next installment to The 9/11 Commission Report but with the election on November 8th and the result of that election has consumed every spare minute of my time. I have been reading about the President-Elect Donald Trump, his cabinet picks and his policy.
I've also been reading his Twitter responses after he was elected to things like the protest that people have been making. Many major cities after Donald Trump was elected the 45th President saw mass protest with people claim that he "NOT MY PRESIDENT" and "DUMP TRUMP".
I try to be pretty moderate in my beliefs. I even wrote someone in for president this election because I didn't really care for either candidate. I do not understand this election though. It is probably the worst election for mud-slinging I have ever seen. This was an election that was not about the issues but it was about the dirt that each candidate could find on one another.
If anything it showed how truly far from the ideals of the founding fathers we have gotten from. Public discourse seemed to be gone. People didn't vote with informed facts and figures they voted with their gut and aligned with people that felt the same. There was reports on both sides that fake news was invading social media. And people were reading them and engaging in them.
Some are calling to give Trump a chance and let's see how he governs. I don't know if I really agree with this. He had time during the election to act presidential and he blew it. Every time he went on Twitter and reacted to a comment by someone he didn't agree with, or during the debate when he said that he would bring in a special prosecutor to investigate his rival.
People cheered to that. They felt they had been wronged. Sometimes, when hope seems to be lost we become desperate. Some people think that Trump is going to give them their jobs back, and even more people believe that Trump is going to "Drain the Swap".
I still don't know what's going to happen but I have a pretty good feeling we will still be here.
